About Christina Book one of our fantastic workshops today

The counselling service that I offer is confidential, respectful, non-judgemental and caring. I am very sensitive to how difficult it might be to take that first step to make initial contact about counselling. Please be assured that I will treat your call with the greatest respect and care. By using the Person-Centred approach I will offer deep empathy, understanding, genuineness and unconditional positive regard in a warm and safe environment.

I am a highly experienced, qualified counsellor holding a BA Honours Degree in Counselling and Advanced Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling. I am also a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP www.bacp.co.uk) and work within their Ethical Framework. Other training that I have completed includes Eating Disorders, Suicide Prevention, Mental Health, Domestic Abuse, Drugs and Alcohol, Self-Harm, Couples Counselling, Sex and Relationships and Safeguarding.

My counselling experience includes working as a counsellor at a Doctors surgery which involved working with a diverse range of clients and issues. Additionally, I have worked as a counsellor at The Butterfly Project in Blackpool which is an organisation for young girls with problems relating to self-harm. Since 2011 I have continued as a qualified private practitioner based at Vitality in Garstang. Through this work, I have gained extensive experience of working with a variety of clients with many different presenting problems.

Alongside my counselling, I have over 10 years’ experience of working in a College environment supporting students and dealing with safeguarding / child protection concerns. I have gained an extensive knowledge and experience working with young people with a wide variety of needs including relationship issues, bullying, low confidence / self-esteem, sexuality, self-harm including eating disorders and many more. Through this work, I have developed a deep insight into the needs and issues of young people.

I also have been working for an Eating Disorder charity called SEED where I facilitate group support for sufferers and their carers. Through this work I have developed a high level of expertise in the field of eating disorders and also supporting carers.

The counselling approach which I offer is based on the Person Centred Approach however my training and experience has also included the Solution Focused Approach. Therefore I may integrate approaches at times if it is beneficial for you.

My specialisms include working with 16-25 year olds, eating disorders and self-harm but the skills and knowledge which I offer is relevant and open to all.

Please note: Counselling concessions may be available for students, people on low income, benefits or unwaged. Please do not hesitate to ask.
